African Journal of Fisheries Science, published by KevinPage, is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal covering fisheries and aquaculture research across African freshwater, coastal, and marine systems. We publish original research, field studies, and critical reviews on fish biology, aquaculture practice, and the sustainable management of fisheries resources.
Scope. We welcome submissions on (but not limited to):
- Freshwater and marine fisheries biology
- Aquaculture systems and fish farming practices
- Fish stock assessment and sustainable harvest management
- Fisheries policy and community-based fisheries management
- Fish disease, health, and nutrition
- Climate change impacts on fisheries and aquatic ecosystems
- Post-harvest fish processing and value chains
- Aquatic biodiversity and habitat conservation
Peer review. Every submission undergoes double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers with relevant subject expertise. Reviewers with a personal, financial, or institutional connection to a submitted manuscript are recused from the process.
Open access. All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license, with no subscription or paywall for readers, and no fee charged to authors for publication.
Publication ethics. The journal follows COPE guidelines on authorship, data integrity, plagiarism, and conflicts of interest. Studies involving live animal subjects are expected to confirm appropriate ethical and welfare standards.
